Welcome to the second issue of my monthly newsletter!

by | Sep 27, 2019 | Newsletter | 0 comments

I do hope that you enjoyed reading my first newsletter sent at the end of August but if for any reason you did not receive it please do let me know.

In each newsletter we will have a guest post and this month we have the amazing Priya Khan explaining about technology and communications. She has so much to offer including mindfulness for children and adults.
Enjoy reading this newsletter and as always any feedback is welcome. If you do have any specific questions about Communicating with Confidence why not email me at sonal@sonaldave.com

I look forward to hearing from you.

So, a lot has happened since the August newsletter.

There have been 3 more workshops. 2 for children and 1 for ladies. Each workshop takes its own shape and although the learning is similar, the outcomes vary each time. What is consistent from attendees feedback is that there is actually so much that they did not know and wish that they had been taught. The children love the debate sessions and enjoy practicing to use their voice using the stomach voice and the ladies loved that someone was actually listening to them and they were accepting that they are important and do have a voice.

We are hoping to plan a workshop over the half term in NW London and we are working on arranging one in East London. So do keep an eye on my social media or let me know if you are interested in you or your child attending as spaces get filled quickly.

If you are a parent, teacher or tutor and feel this life skill of Communicating with Confidence should be taught in your area, school, community or tuition centre, please do get in touch so we can work together to make this happen.

Teaching Children to Speak With Confidence

Communicating with Confidence is an essential skill for life and if you give your child the opportunity to start to learn this skill at a young age, then the journey of education with communication at the core will be so much easier.

Just imagine that every time you get up to speak in class, college or university that everyone is looking at you saying “wow, I wish that I could be so confident and speak like them”. Or even asking themselves “how can they be so confident and not nervous?”

Wouldn’t you just love it if that was your child who has the skills and knowledge to be able to just get up, say what they want and get what they want or get the decision they want because they have these key skills! So what are you waiting for?

Children who have completed the online course are already excelling during school assembly, class presentations, exams and interviews for school.

Confidence – Why Children Need It More Than Ever

Our self-esteem is made up of the thoughts we have about ourselves, these come from our self-beliefs which almost always come from our caregivers, the people we trust.

In a world full of screens, in a world where they can access anyone and see anything at any time, children are growing up faster than their brains are maturing.

With social media, fake news, highly competitive societies, more children suffer from anxiety and depression than ever before.  When they have access to the unfiltered world through smart phones and iPad, we want our they know their self-worth, have strong self-esteem and confidence so they do not need to compare themselves to others, search for instant gratification to boost their ego or feel the need to befriend as many people as they can.

All children will spend time online, and as parents we need to support and mentor them so they are prepared to handle all the digital world shows them.

At Little Crystal Minds, we work on ensuring children and families connect together to build healthy relationships with themselves, each other and online.  We help support you and your family to become more resilient and confident to thrive in the digital world we all now live in.
